As predicted, life after my french exam is pretty good. I'm in a nice place for a couple of days, before the next big thing hits.
The french exam went well. I didn't perform as well as I think I should have, but I guess I always feel that way. My main worry going into the exam would be that I got questions I couldn't answer well, or that I hadn't prepared for. As it turns out, that wasn't a problem at all. What was a problem? I couldn't slow down, I felt the nerves come in and I just couldn't sit back and answer calmly and clearly like my teachers trained me to do. Consequently, I am sure I made some mistakes that I shouldn't have. It's too bad because I know better.
The good news is that I am confident I got the level I needed. I just hope I get one level up, but I won't know until later this week. I'll try to forget about it until then.
So Mom is coming out to visit me soon, I can't wait!! She arrives in Ottawa around the same time as Obama, one day different. The city should be pumped, although now they're saying he's only here for a few hours and just meeting with Harper and Ignatieff. Too bad, people were really stoked to give him a good public reception I think. Which is such a stark contrast to Bush's reception.
Anyway, the canal is beautiful, there are lots of activities in Gatineau Park, and the buses are running again so traffic won't be as bad when she arrives. Mom's pretty brave about the cold so I'm sure we'll do lots while she's here. Is it bad that I also love having visitors because it prompts a really good, deep cleaning of my home? I can't help it, it's one of the perks for me!
